Indigenous Knowledge and Culture

We work closely with cultural practitioners and elders to promote Indigenous knowledge and cultural practices for sustainable land management, health, and peace-building.

Intervention
Horn of Africa organization for indigenous people collaborates with traditional plant medicine experts, peacekeepers, and musicians to create safe spaces where traditional knowledge is shared, preserved, and passed on to younger generations. The organization documents and digitalizes Indigenous Knowledge for 14 ethnic communities in Marsabit County and has preserved tangible and intangible cultural heritage across Northern Kenya.
