Protecting Indigenous Land and Resource Rights
HOA-OIP works to secure indigenous communities’ customary land rights through legal advocacy, documentation of traditional land tenure systems, and support for community-based land management. This includes combating land grabbing and promoting equitable land governance.
Objectives
- Advocate for the recognition, respect, and protection of Indigenous communities’ collective rights to land, territories, and natural resources.
- Support legal frameworks and policies that guarantee access, use, and ownership of ancestral land at global, national, and county levels.
